Keep the provider’s meaning.

A weekly quota isn’t
a wallet balance.

Ant keeps an account, its subscription and its resources connected. A provider’s balance remains a balance. A rolling window remains a rolling window. Model scope, reset times and the source of a reading stay attached to the resource they describe.

You can inspect what was observed and when it was checked. Missing or stale information remains visible, so an unknown quota never quietly becomes “unlimited.” Each provider keeps its own rules as more services are added.

Lives on your Mac.

A native menu bar app runs a bundled local service. Accounts and readings stay in a local SQLite store. The landing page receives no credentials. The app contacts providers to read usage or balance information from the accounts you connect.

A route you can explain.

Inspect the available candidates for a model, their order and exclusion reasons. Pause an account, resume it later, or set your preferred order. Eligibility is checked before ranking; a preference cannot make an expired or unavailable resource eligible.

Room for more providers.

The current supply modules cover Z.ai, DeepSeek, Kimi and Alibaba Bailian. Provider adapters can add their own account discovery, quota observations and model offers. Capabilities vary by provider; Ant shows what it can actually observe.

Preview scope

This version configures and observes resources and previews routes. Real request consumption, automatic failover and usage attribution are still planned. Downloading Ant does not include a provider subscription or free API credits.

Get version 0.1.0 ↗
  1. Download and open the disk image.

Choose the universal DMG above. The same package includes Apple Silicon and Intel builds and requires macOS 13 or later.

  2. Drag Ant into Applications.

Open Ant from Applications. Look for the ant in your menu bar and open its panel. Existing supported local sign-ins may be discovered; usage refreshes are read-only provider requests.

  3. Connect an account and inspect its supply.

Use the app’s account management to add supported credentials. Check the reported balance, window and freshness before using a route preview. No billable inference request is started by the preview.

Before you download

Is the download signed?

Yes. Ant is signed with a Developer ID certificate, notarized by Apple and includes a stapled notarization ticket. The published app passed macOS Gatekeeper assessment. The release includes checksums for both downloads.

What if the download doesn’t start?

Open the GitHub release and choose the DMG or ZIP under Assets. The release also includes SHA256SUMS for verifying the download. If macOS blocks installation, follow the instructions in the release notes rather than disabling system protections.

How do I remove Ant?

Quit Ant from its menu and remove Ant.app from Applications. Your local account configuration and database remain in ~/.config/ant, so uninstalling the app does not erase your records. Remove that folder only if you intend to delete the saved local data.

Where can I report a problem?

Open a GitHub issue with the app version, macOS version and the behavior you expected. Never include API keys, cookies, tokens or unredacted account exports. The repository includes source and build instructions if you want to inspect how Ant works.
